Saudi Arabia , often called ‘The Land of the Two Holy Mosques’ (in reference to Mecca and Medina, the holiest places in Islam), is the largest country of the Arabian Peninsula.

Easily accessible from anywhere in the world ...

...due to the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital city, Saudi Arabia is a constant attraction to Europeans these days.

Saudi Arabia Holidays

A mixture of old and new, Islamic history and breath-taking modernity, A Holiday in Saudi Arabia is a truly fascinating place to spend a fortnight. Wherever you come from, you will be amazed at the uniqueness of its multi-faced cities and the diversity of attractions that the kingdom has in store.

Riyadh, served by a modern highway system that makes travelling a piece of cake, is a predominantly Sunni Muslim area, with over 4200 mosques to the delight of Christian visitors who come here every year.

The beauty of the city and the high standard of living it can provide has made a huge number of foreigners from Central Asia, Africa, Europe and Southern Asia to settle down here for good. They now form about 34% of the city population.

Another popular holiday destination in Saudi Arabia is Mecca. The city is famous for the Haji pilgrimage which attracts two million people annually. Home to the Grand Mosque - Masjid al-Haram, the largest mosque in the world - and the Kaaba Shrine, Mecca meets rain in small amounts in December and January only.

All the year round you can expect fairly high temperatures, ranging from + 17°C to over + 40°C. Residents are again a mix of several ethnicities and nationalities and so is the cuisine. Lovers of grilled meals will be happy to have the traditional shawarma, kebab and kofta here and, of course, the highly-appreciated baklawa and basbosa desserts.

Medina, the second holiest city in Islam, is the burial place of Muhammad and a remarkably beautiful spot to see. A 30-feet strong wall surrounds the city and has four main gates, of which the Egyptian Gate (also called Bab-al-Salam) is most famous. Situated 120 miles away from the Red Sea coast, Medina is a good start for anyone who wants to do sightseeing and then take a couple of relaxing days by the sea.

The welcoming beautiful hotels and the impeccable service tourists are offered in this fascinating country make Saudi Arabia the perfect holiday destination for anyone attracted to exotic culture and tradition.
